Poppy Seed Rolls

Try with Aubergine dip/spread!

Ingredients

  • 1.5kg strong white flour
  • 4tsp salt
  • 6tsp dried yeast (2 sachets)
  • 50g soya margarine
  • 600ml hand hot water
  • 300ml soya milk
  • Poppy seeds

    Method

    1) Put flour, salt, and yeast in a bowl. Rub soya margarine into flour.

    2) Mix soya milk and water and pour over flour.

    3) Knead the dough on a floured board for 10 minutes until stretchy.

    4)Divide into balls and arrange on a greased baking sheet so that rolls are all touching each other in a big circle.

    5)Brush tops with soya milk and sprinkle poppy seeds over the top.

    6)Leave in a warm place to rise for about 30 minutes. You can cover with a slightly damp tea towel.

    7)Cook for about 35 minutes at 220ºC/435ºF until cooked and golden brown. Cool on wire cooling rack.
