Clive Stephen 2008-02-21 10:49:53Dire !!! Even with over a week's notice, this esteemed establishment couldn't / wouldn't cater for a single Vegan within a party of only 15 or so. Other veggies were in the party & this was for a mid-week lunchtime meal when the restaurant was almost deserted !
When I went to the restaurant to try to arrange for Vegan food the staff didn't appear very interested (maybe because Vegan is a LITTLE bit D-I-F-F-I-C-U-L-T for them to understand). Anyway, I did try to be helpful & suggested a starter of melon would always be acceptable. They assured me that the veggie main dish of the day would be Vegan.
The melon turned up as one slice on an otherwise large, bare plate ! Presentation or what !!
The main course was the standard, daily veggie option with the cheese scraped off (never happened to any of us before, huh ?).
Anyway – DON'T GO. If they couldn't give a **, neither should we – & tell your friends !!
